Town Information and History

Located in the heart of the Mallee, Lake Boga is a hidden gem perfect for those seeking a relaxed getaway with a role in the Australian aviation history. Transformed in 1942, during World War II into a secret flying boat repair depot, staffed by over 1,500 servicemen and women there is plenty of history at the Flying Boat Catalina Museum to get immersed in.

If you are into water activities, Lake Boga is one of the most popular aquatic playgrounds of Northern Victoria, with close to 5km of shore line you can always find your own spot to relax, unwind and explore. Go bike riding, take a stroll, throw in a line or bring a picnic basket and enjoy the sparkling water. During the winter months, a round of golf at the picturesque Lakeside Golf course is a must do.
